Week 6

Passage of time in my Garden

For this week I wanted to show the passage of time at my home. I have found pictures ranging from the 1960's when my house was first being built to the 1970's when the garden was just starting to get established and up to the 1990's when the Garden was brimming with flowers.

so I decided to make comparisons between then and now just to see how much it has changed.

Week 5

My images for week 5 will be of pictures that show the relationship between the land and sea. I have tried to do this in a interesting way such as climbling into to caves and look out to frame the image by the land and have the sea in the middle of the image.

Week 4

This week concept is to give the viewer a closer look at small objects but i wanted to do this in a interesting way so i am going to montage those images and i am calling this macro montage.

this week is inspired by the work of Hockney and the cubism work of Picasso. Both of these artists have given the viewer different angles of the same object in the same group of pictures be those group of pictures be arranged in a grid or like Picasso where they have all been merged together.

Week 3 photos

This weeks photos will be based on the work by jerry uelsmann and his layering of images in the darkroom.

I will be doing the layering of my film digitally because I believe that I don't have the skills to pull off the look I want from my photos in the darkroom.

week 2 photos

Week 2 was a difficult week for me to decide on a concept because I didn't know whether to go for a mask fashion shoot or try to go for identity and emotions. But now looking back at these photos I believe I got both And when consulting friends and family to see what they thought of my photos most of them started ask question about the women behind the mask and they were also commenting on the beauty of the photos and indeed the masks.

First weeks photos

So here it is the first weeks photos. This weeks idea was to go and shoot Heligan gardens
and show the beauty and history of this site.

I took this picture for the reflection in the water. I like the way this photo draws your eyes from the bottom to the top via the reflection. This photo was taken with my Canon 450D with a 18-55mm lens on. This photo was influeneced by steve shames photo in ketchum, Idaho



With this photo I wanted to show some of the tools that the first gardener's at Heligan. The thing I like best about this photo is how the light is coming through the window and lighting the tools.



I took this photo to show the beauty of the snowdrops in the spring. this photo was taken using My Canon 450D with a macro lens.



I took this photo to show how the light plays with the reflection in the water and I like to try and show some movement in my photos when the opportunity shows it self.



I like this photo because of the way your eyes follow the path through the greenhouse. I took this photo to show the old greenhouses at Heligan.
